USC Finishes Fourth At Pac-12 Preview

Corpuz ties for seventh for third straight top seven finish.
Junior Alyaa Abdulghany fired her second 1-under 72 of the week while senior Allisen Corpuz posted her third straight top 7 finish to lead the No. 4 USC women's golf team in the final round of the Nanea Pac-12 Preview at Nanea G.C. in Kailua Kona, Hawaii, on Wednesday (Nov. 6).
The Trojans, in their final fall event, combined for a 54-hole, 1-under 875 (290-290-295), finishing fourth. Arizona won the tournament at 19-under 857.
Corpuz's impressive streak of nine straight rounds under par came to an end today with a 1-over 74, but the senior still tied for seventh at 4-under 215 (70-71-74) to go with a fourth and a tie for third in her previous two events. She finishes fall play with a team-best stroke average of 71.08 as the only Trojan to compete in all 12 rounds.
Abdulghany used her final round 72 to move into a tie for 20th at 1-over 220 (72-76-72) – her second straight top 20 -- where she joined junior Gabriela Ruffels (76-70-74). Abdulghany posted a pair of birdies in the final round while Ruffels had one bogey against 17 pars.
Junior Amelia Garvey tied for 23rd at 3-over 222 (74-73-75) and sophomore Malia Nam tied for 45th at 13-over 232 (74-79-79).
USC is off until the Northrop Grumman Regional Challenge, Feb. 9-11, at Palos Verdes (Calif.) G.C.
