LOS ANGELES — Reese Dixon-Waters and Tre White recorded career highs with 20 points each as USC men's basketball won its fourth-straight game with a 88-78 home win against Long Beach State on Wednesday.
White, a true freshman from Dallas, set a career high in points for the second game in a row after scoring 15 against Cal State Fullerton on Dec. 7. Dixon-Waters, who came off the bench, scored in double-digits for the fifth time over the last 10 games and had five assists.
Drew Peterson finished with 15 points, 10 rebounds and seven assists. Kobe Johnson had 14 points, five assists and matched a career best with seven rebounds. Boogie Ellis became the fifth Trojan to score in double-digits with 11 points while dishing five dimes. Joshua Morgan blocked four shots.
The Trojans (8-3, 2-0 Pac-12) finished with a season-high 24 assists on 32 field goals. They also made a season-high 11 3-pointers on 23 attempts.
USC won in a wire-to-wire victory due to a 20-8 start. The Trojans slowly built their lead to 16 points at the 2:10 mark of the first half after a 3-pointer from Ellis.

The Beach (4-6) began to dominate the Trojans on the boards and scored five unanswered points before the halftime buzzer. Long Beach State continued to chip away the Trojans' lead early in the second half, and a jumper and a 3-pointer from Marcus Tsohonis dwindled USC's margin to just two points with 11:03 remaining.
USC had its momentum restored when Dixon-Waters had a fastbreak jumper and a layup on the Trojans' next possession. A minute later, White had a breakaway dunk created by Morgan's block that sealed the Trojans' win.
