USC - highlighted by Christine Wang's career-best second round 66 - spent some 27 holes Tuesday jockeying with top-ranked Stanford for space atop the leaderboard before ultimately finishing second at the 2023 Juli Inkster at Meadow Club Invitational in Fairfax, Calif.
The Trojans, which led for part of the final round, took second at 1-under 863 (287-278-298), five back of the Cardinal and four ahead of No. 5 San Jose State. USC has now finished in the top 3 of three straight tournaments among four such results this season.
Wang's 66 was USC's low for the tournament while sophomore Amari Avery (T3), freshman Catherine Park (T6) and junior Brianna Navarrosa (T9) all posted top 10 finishes.
Teams started the morning finishing about half of the second round. Wang completed hers with a bogey-free 6-under 66 for her best round in Cardinal and Gold.
Overall, Avery tied for third at 1-under 215 (72-70-73) for her second top 3 this season and her third top 7.
Park's tie for sixth at par 216 (71-70-75) marks her highest finish this season and her fourth top 17.
