August 27, 2023 | Women's Soccer
CHAPEL HILL, N.C. – The No. 24 USC women's soccer team fell on the road at No. 3 North Carolina on Sunday, dropping a 4-0 decision.
USC splits its Carolina road trip after beating No. 4 Duke on Thursday. The Trojans are now 2-1 on the year.
North Carolina scored once in the first half and then got two quick goals midway through the second period and finally a late penalty to put things away. Ally Sentnor picked up the opening goal on a long first-half strike and Evelyn Shores scored two in the second half for the home team. Tori Dellaperuta converted a penalty kick in the 88th minute.
On a steamy day in North Carolina, USC struggled to maintain possession and unlock the Tar Heel defense.
