September 28, 2024 | Women's Cross Country
Trojans place seventh in the team competition
Helena Teixeira-Dasilva was USC's top finisher to lead the Trojans to a seventh-place finish at the Dave Murray Invitational (6K) today. The Trojans had only five runners competing, meaning that each athlete would be a scorer.
The graduate transfer Teixeira-Dasilva finished the tough 6K-course with a time of 23:04.0 to place 31st overall, leading the way for USC in just her second race as a Trojan. Teixeira-Dasilva was USC's second runner to finish in the opener at Pepperdine on Aug. 30.
Senior Giovanna Pisano was the Trojans second scoring-runner with a time of 23:41.5 to finish 36th. Redshirt junior Jacqueline Duarte was the next USC runner to finish, placing 45th with a time of 24:35.2.
USC's final two runners were sophomores Haley Spoden who had a time of 24:57.7 to place 52nd and Angelina Vasquez, who had a time of 25:03.3 to place 53rd.
USC's next meet will be on Saturday, Oct. 19 when it competes at the Highlander Invitational (6K) in Riverside, Calif.
