USC Men's Golf Tees it Up in Dallas for Trinity Forest Invitational
October 03, 2025 | Men's Golf
DALLAS -- The USC men's golf team heads to Texas on Sunday as the Trojans tee it up at the Trinity Forest Invitational at the Trinity Forest Golf Course in Dallas. The three-round event will feature a 15-team field and will run Oct. 5-7.
Â
"We return to SMU for a second year and a solid 15 team field," said Head Coach Mark Hankins. "We are preparing to battle with a new lineup this week. Every week is different, and we don't take anything for granted. The guys have prepared but now is the critical part of adapting to the course, conditions and dealing with competition. We're excited to compete and need to put together three good rounds to be in contention."
Â
USC won its season-opening tournament, the Whirlwind Invitational, posting a 52-under-par 812 to outpace the twelve-team field. The 52-under finishing score is the second-best tournament score in program history. Antonio Safa made history, winning the individual title and setting a new USC record for a 54-hole finish with a 17-under-par 199. USC then travelled to New Mexico and finished tied for third at the William H. Tucker Intercollegiate. Nicolas Dominguez finished in fourth place individually and Safa continued his strong start with an 11th place finish.

Â
HEAR FROM THE LINEUP:
Â
Junior Nicolas Dominguez: "I feel great. Everyone on the team has done their job to get ready and its contagious so I feel good. I'm excited to get out there and play. You just have to keep it in front of you and play smart and play some good golf."
Â
Senior Antonio Safa: "I am really excited to go and be back out with the guys. Everyone is really trying to push each other and as a senior one of my roles is to push everyone to the limit and be better every day. You have to be smart about how you play the second shots and where the pins are, just be patient and let the birdies come."
Â
Sophomore Jaden Dumdumaya: "We have some good momentum and we will just try to keep on playing well and grinding out there. As a team, our mindset is where we want to be. We have a strong team bond and know what everyone is capable of."
Â
Sophomore Jack Buchanan: "We have had a good start to the season and we are excited for the event. It is a fairly similar course to our home course at Rolling Hills, and two of us have played Trinity Forest before. I am just trying to put three consecutive tournament rounds together. I played the course well last year and hope to put that towards this week."
Â
Redshirt Senior Luke Stock: "Just sticking to our process and being in control of every shot. I have been doing a good job mentally. I have heard the course is quite open with big greens, and I am excited to get there and we will enjoy it."
