USC Wraps Up Day One at Southern Highlands Collegiate Tied for 10th

Sophomore Jack Jerge leads the charge for the Trojans as he is tied for 22nd at three-over par
LAS VEGAS – USC men's golf finished out the first round of the Southern Highlands Collegiate at 19-over-par putting in a tie for 10th out of 15 teams on Sunday, Mar. 2 at the Southern Highlands Golf Club.
The Trojans sit tied for tenth amongst a field of 15 teams including nine top-25 teams, as they counted a 75-77-77-78 (307, +19) on day one. No. 2 Auburn leads the tournament at one-under par.
Sophomore Jack Jerge led the charge for USC as he was three-over par and is tied for 22nd in the field. Jerge limited his damage, as he was two-over on the front nine and one-over on the back nine. The sophomore birdied one hole – hole No. 17 – and bogeyed four holes on the day.
The freshman duo of Jack Buchanan and Jaden Dumdumaya tied each other on the day, as they were both five-over par and tied for 41st. Buchanan tied for the team lead with three birdies in the round, as it helped mitigate a double bogey on hole 12. Dumdumaya had a similar situation, as he had a double on No. 9 to card a 39 (+3) on the front side and used a birdie on backside to give him a 38 (+2).
Junior Antonio Safa was the last counting score, as he posted a 78 (+6). Safa had three bogeys, two double bogeys and one birdie during his round as he is tied for 51st.
Senior Gavin Aurilia was nine-over on the day and is tied for 69th in the field.
USC heads into second round starting at 9 a.m. tomorrow at the Southern Highlands Golf Club.
