No. 5 USC Women’s Golf Sits 14th After Day One at Charles Schwab Women’s Collegiate

FORT WORTH, Texas – No. 5 USC women's golf sits 14th out of 15 teams after two rounds of play at the Charles Schwab Women's Collegiate Invitational on Monday, Mar. 24 at the Colonial C.C.
The Trojans are currently facing their worst start on the green this season after finishing in the top-three in all tournaments they have participated in. The Women of Troy are 22-over-par at the end of the second round.
Junior Catherine Park is in the top-25 after two rounds, sitting at 15th. In the first round, Park birdied No. 1 and bogeyed No. 2 and No. 5, finishing with a 71 (+1). In the second round, she birdied No. 11 and No. 15 and bogeyed No. 1 and No. 5, finishing with an even-par (70).
Senior Xin (Cindy) Kou has eight bogeys overall, three in round one and five in round two. She is tied for 31st at five-over par. Sophomore Bailey Shoemaker currently leads the team in birdies, posting four in the first round and two in the second round. She is tied for 43rd at seven-over par.
Freshman Kylie Chong posted three consecutive bogeys in the first round- No.4, No. 5, and No.6. She continued to post four consecutive bogeys in the second round- No. 3 through No. 6. Chong is tied for 59th at 11-over par. Fellow freshman Jasmine Koo also had a productive first round, finishing 74 (+4) with two birdies and six bogeys. Koo is tied for 56th at nine-over par.
The Trojans return for the final round at 6:30 a.m. PT tomorrow at the Colonial Country Club in Fort-Worth, Texas.
