USC Rowing Shoves Off For Oregon State Invitational
May 01, 2025 | Women's Rowing
Trojans will have seven boats in action out at Dexter Lake Reservoir in Lowell, Ore.
USC women's rowing is off to Oregon this week to compete at the Oregon State Invitational, where the Trojans will race boats from host OSU along with San Diego and Sacramento State at the event, taking place on Saturday (May 3) at Dexter Lake Reservoir in Lowell, Ore.
Under the direction of first-year head coach Kelsie Chaudoin, USC will have seven boats in action at the Oregon State Invitational, with the first race set for a 9 a.m. start for 3V8+ boats.
Last year, the Dexter Lake event was a six-team invitational, with USC's best finish coming in a first-place finish by the 2V8+. That boat was coxed by Ellen Ariathurai with Grace Eamer in stroke along with (7) Chloe Amling, (6) Chiara Meakin, (5) Isabella Korellis, (4) Clare Widzgowski, (3) Isabella Lysaker, (2) Julia Karten and bow Alex DeLisle.
The Trojans' start times for each race are below. Live streaming for the event will be available HERE, and race results will be posted HERE. USC's race day lineups will be posted on X and Instagram at @uscwomensrowing.

USC wrapped up the San Diego Crew Classic with solid performances across the board at Mission Bay. The Trojans' Novice 8+ took first place in the Laurel Korholz Trophy final with a dominating eight-second win ahead of the second-place finisher. In other action, the Varsity 8+ finished fifth in a competitive Jessop-Whittier/Cal Cup A Final with a time of 6:38.751 after remaining in contention through the first 750 meters. Defending champion Texas edged out Washington to take the championship. USC's Varsity 4+ was sixth in the Karen Plumleigh Cortney Cup race with a time of 7:35.882. Washington narrowly beat out Texas to take first place. In the 2V8+ Jackie Ann Stitt Hungness Trophy race, USC placed fourth with a time of 6:45.652 after battling with the three leaders in the opening stretch of the regatta. The Trojans settled into a rhythm that kept them ahead of UCLA by nearly four seconds.
BEATING THE BRUINS
On March 8, USC defeated crosstown rival UCLA in the annual head-to-head dual for a fifth straight time and improved to 23-1 all-time over the Bruins at the Port of Los Angeles. The Women of Troy collected a 20-3 victory with wins by the 1V8, 2V8, 3V8, and the 1V4. The dual victory also secured USC's possession of the Amy Fuller Kearney-Lori Guerrero Azbill Trophy. The Trojans claimed the inaugural trophy in the 2022 UCLA Dual and has continued to control the award as winners in 2023, 2024 and 2025. This trophy honors long-time late former UCLA coach Amy Fuller Kearny and former USC assistant coach Lori Guerrero Azbill.
