January 12, 2026 | Women's Tennis
Trojans welcome UC Santa Barbara and LMU on Tuesday, Jan. 13.
LOS ANGELES - No. 19 USC women's tennis opens the 2026 spring season with a home doubleheader on Tuesday, Jan. 13, welcoming UC Santa Barbara at 12 p.m. before facing LMU at 4 p.m. at David X. Marks Tennis Stadium.
The nightcap will be played under the lights, with fans treated to a rally towel giveaway and free pizza for the first 50 students, as the Trojans kick off the dual-match season at home.
USC enters the spring ranked No. 19 after a highly successful fall campaign that showcased both veteran leadership and promising newcomers. Five Trojans appeared in the ITA Fall Singles Rankings, led by No. 12 Emma Charney and No. 16 Jana Hossam, while Eugenia Zozaya (No. 62), Krisha Mahendran (No. 74) and Immi Haddad (No. 95) also earned national recognition. In doubles, USC's pair of Lily Fairclough and Dani Borruel checked in at No. 6, while Mahendran and Hossam snagged the No. 51 spot.
The Trojans made a major impact at the NCAA Fall Individual Championships, with six players qualifying across singles and doubles competition (tied for the most in the country). Jana Hossam delivered one of the program's top performances of the fall, advancing to the NCAA Singles Semifinals, while the doubles team of Lily Fairclough and Dani Borruel matched that feat with a run to the NCAA Doubles Semifinals. Emma Charney added to USC's postseason success by reaching the NCAA Singles Round of 16.
In total, four Trojans earned ITA All-American honors during the fall, underscoring the depth of USC's lineup heading into dual-match play. Freshmen Eugenia Zozaya (singles) and Krisha Mahendran (doubles) gained valuable postseason experience, while Hossam competed in both singles and doubles alongside Charney, Fairclough and Borruel.
Building on her standout fall, Jana Hossam was recently named to the 2026 Big Ten Women's Tennis Players to Watch list, entering the spring as one of the conference's premier competitors.
With national momentum, a top 20 ranking and an exciting home atmosphere set for the opener, the Trojans will look to start the 2026 season strong as they take the courts Tuesday against UC Santa Barbara and LMU.
