USC Swimming & Diving To Open New Year With Two Meets

LOS ANGELES – After not competing for over a month, the USC swimming and diving team will be back in action at the Uytengsu Aquatics Center. The Trojans will host the University of Nevada, Las Vegas and UC San Diego for swim events, while the diving squad will head to UCLA for the Bruin Diving Invitational.

Jan. 9-11 – Bruin Diving Invitational – Diving Only – 10:30 start each day

So Far This Season
The Trojan swimming and diving program made a powerful early-season statement at the USC Invitational, notching several event victories and standout performances against top national programs including Indiana, Texas A&M, and UCLA.
The Women of Troy continued their rise as a true contender in the Big Ten Conference, beating both No. 23 UCLA and No. 25 Texas A&M. Troy defeated Texas A&M 197-155 to open the season with a win.
12 Women of Troy have already met NCAA Standards including swimmers Minna Abraham (100y free, 200y free, 500y free, 100y back), Justina Kozan (200y IM, 400y IM, 200y fly, 500y free), Nicole Maier (50y free, 100y free, 200y free), Claire Tuggle (200y free, 500y free), Ashley McMillan (200y breast, 200y IM, 400y IM), Bella Brito (100y breast, 200y breast), Camden Doane (200y fly), Lindsay Barnes (200y back), Dora Molnar (200y back) and divers Kate Miller (1-meter, 3-meter, platform), Jenna Jagielski (1-meter, 3-meter) and Emi Machida (platform).
On the men's side, divers Moritz Wesemann (1-meter, 3-meter, platform), Laurent Gosselin-Paradis (1-meter, 3-meter, platform), Robert Gref (1-meter, platform), Luc Goertzen (1-meter, 3-meter, platform) and Valentino Nieto (platform) have performed above the standard as well as swimmers Michal Chmielewski (100y fly, 200y fly, 100y back), Krzysztof Chmielewski (200y fly, 500y free, 400y IM), Oliver Sogaard-Anderson (200y free, 500y free), Sanberk Oktar (200y IM, 400y IM), Junhao Chan (200y breast) and Drew Huston (200y back).
