USC Men's Basketball Prepares To Take On Oregon
February 20, 2026 | Men's Basketball
The Trojans look to get their second straight win over the Ducks for the first time since 2021.
LOS ANGELES — USC Men's Basketball (18-8, 7-8) will host the Oregon Ducks (9-17, 2-13) at Galen Center on Saturday, Feb. 21. This is the second time the two teams have faced each other this season, with the Trojans winning the last matchup 82-77 behind a second-half rally on Dec. 2 in Eugene, Ore.
LAST TIME OUT
USC fell to No. 10 Illinois at home 101-65 in the Galen Center on Wednesday, Feb. 18. The Trojans' defense struggled against the top offensive team in KenPom: Illinois shot 50% or better in both halves, had seven players finish in double-figures, and led for the entirety of the game.
Ezra Ausar recorded his second double-double of the season with 15 points and 11 rebounds, while Jacob Cofie was a consistent factor for the Trojans throughout the game, finishing with 14 points and five rebounds. Terrance Williams II also chipped in nine points and four rebounds off the bench.
LAST OUTING AGAINST OREGON
On Dec. 2, USC collected its first Big Ten win with an 82-77 victory over Oregon. Both teams had a hot hand beyond the arc in the first half, with even scoring efforts leading to a 39-39 game by the half. Chad Baker-Mazara and Ezra Ausar swiftly opened scoring in the second frame, dropping in paint points. Gritty boards and plays by the rim sent both teams to the free throw line early, and Ausar would produce a three-point play that gave the Trojans a 67-63 lead. Baker-Mazara struck with three big-time shots to seal the game, and USC emerged from Eugene with a win.
SCOUTING THE DUCKS
Jacob Cofie is one of two Trojans who have started all 26 games. His five double-doubles lead the team, plus they rank 11th in the Big Ten and 121st in the NCAA. Over the week of Feb. 9-15, Cofie ranked 10th amongst all Big Ten players, according to Bart Torvik.
Over the last five games, Cofie has averaged 12.0 points and 6.2 rebounds — including 2.8 offensive rebounds per game — and 1.4 blocks per game.
UNDER PRESSURE
USC is 7-1 in one-possession games and 2-0 in overtime games. The Trojans' seven one-possession wins lead the Big Ten over Nebraska, which has four, and Rutgers, which has three.
THE GALEN ADVANTAGE
USC is 232-95 at the Galen Center since it opened on Nov. 16, 2006. USC is also 115-26 in non-conference games at the Galen Center.
