USC Men’s Golf Plays Penultimate Regular Season Tournament at the Wyoming Cowboy Classic
March 30, 2026 | Men's Golf
This is the third-straight year USC will compete at the Wyoming Cowboy Classic.
MARICOPA, Ariz. — Competing in its penultimate regular-season tournament, the USC Men's Golf team travels west to play in the Wyoming Cowboy Classic, hosted by the University of Wyoming at the Ak-Chin Southern Dunes Golf Club, located in Maricopa, Ariz. from March 31-April 1.
USC will face off against 24 schools in the 54-hole tournament, starting with 36 holes on Tuesday before playing the final 18 holes on Wednesday. Both days will have a 7:30 a.m. PT shotgun start. A live results link can be found on the men's golf team's schedule page on usctrojans.com.
The Ak-Chin Southern Dunes Golf Course is a familiar track for the Trojans. This will be USC's third-straight year playing in the Wyoming Cowboy Classic; last year, Jack Buchanan and Antonio Safa were in the lineup when the Trojans placed eighth out of 23 teams. Furthermore, Buchanan, Safa and Jaden Dumdumaya were with the Trojans as they won the 2024 Southern Dunes Invitational."
The Trojans are coming off a 13th-place finish at the highly competitive Valspar Collegiate Invitational. Sophomore Jaden Dumdumaya provided the highlight of the tournament by firing a 63 (-8) in the first round — tied for the third-best round in program history — and finishing in a tie for seventh with a career-best 201 (-12).
From here, the Trojans will head upstate to compete in the Western Intercollegiate, hosted by San Jose State at Pasatiempo Golf Club, located in Santa Cruz, Calif. That will be the final regular-season tournament before the Trojans begin the road to Carlsbad, Calif. for the 2026 NCAA Men's Golf Championships later this May.

HEAR FROM THE LINEUP:
Sophomore Jaden Dumdumaya: "My 201 at the Valspar Collegiate Invitational really boosted my confidence and it was definitely a learning experience with how to lead the tournament. Keeping the mindset is probably something I'd like to continue this week. I'll continue to go out there and play my game in a free way where I'm not really trying to force shots."
Freshman Raghav Gulati: "I think we are definitely up there as one of the higher-ranked teams this week and we've come off two very strong college events. I think our schedule has been very helpful in preparing us for this tournament. I've come off two pretty opposite weeks in terms of my finishes, but I'm looking forward to this next event and I'd be happy if I finish inside the top 15."
Sophomore Jack Buchanan: "We've played the course a few times for tournaments in the past, and every time we play it, we're playing in different conditions. So this time around, it'll be a bit more scorable because it's softer. Hitting fairways is crucial. You've got a bit of space, so just trying to be as precise as you can will be key. It's kind of tough to get up-and-down, but maybe not so much this week because the greens will be softer."
Senior Antonio Safa: "One of the keys to this course is to be very precise with your tee shots and set yourself up in good positions for your second shots. Playing well around the greens is going to be key on this course to be successful."
Redshirt Senior Luke Stock: "In the last tournament, I hit my irons pretty well in the last round and gave myself quite a few opportunities. I think that's going to be key in this event: hitting short irons and wedges well, and to give yourself a lot of birdie looks."
