CATHY'S CURTAIN CALL
Senior Catherine Park is wrapping up a stellar collegiate career this spring. The three-time All-American currently ranks in a tie for second in program history with five tournament wins. With one more win, Cathy would tie Annie Park for the most career wins in USC history.
Park has left a mark everywhere in the USC career record book. Last season, she set the USC single-season records for top ten finishes (10) and par or better rounds (26), plus her stroke average of 71.00 was second only to her single-season low of 70.94 from her sophomore season. She tied the best round by score in program history with an 8-under 63 in the third round of the Stanford Intercollegiate as a junior, while her three-round score of 204 at the 2024 Pac-12 Championship is tied for the best three-round score in program history.
So far, Park's stroke average of 70.65 leads the team, which would break her own record for the lowest single-season mark in USC history. Her nine rounds under par lead the team and her eight rounds in the 60s are tied with Jasmine Koo for the most on the team. She has finished in the top-25 in all but one tournament this year and she has two top-10 finishes.
NO SOPHOMORE SLUMP
Sophomores Kylie Chong and Jasmine Koo are integral parts of the Trojan lineup this season.
An All-American and All-Big Ten First Team as a freshman, Koo is looking to build upon a successful collegiate debut season in which she led USC in wins (four), rounds under par (19), rounds in the 60s (12) and birdies (142). She tied the program record for wins in a single season with four, and tied the program record for most wins in succession with three in a row. So far, Koo has three top-10 showings and she leads the team with eight rounds in the 60s and 65 birdies. Her best tournament this year was tying for first at the Golfweek Red Sky Classic from Sept. 22-24.
Chong is enjoying a breakout sophomore season. The Torrance, Calif. native has placed in the top 10 in three events — an improvement over her two top-10 finishes as a freshman. She has fired three rounds in the 60s and four of her best five collegiate rounds have come this season. Her best finish show far was tying for first with Jasmine Koo at the Golfweek Red Sky Classic.
COMING HOME
Making her return to Southern California, Irvine native Elise Lee joined USC after being an integral part of the Northwestern Wildcats' national title-winning team last spring. The sophomore has been one of USC's scoring players in 14.5 of the 15.5 rounds this season, and her 71.29 stroke average is currently the second-best on the team. Lee has fired her career-low round of 68 on four occasions this season. Her three top-10 finishes this season are tied with Kylie Chong and Jasmine Koo for the most on the team.
BAILEY'S BACK
Bailey Shoemaker is making her return to USC after missing the fall season. The junior from Dade City, Fla. has finished in the top 15 in both tournaments so far, with her best finish being at the Alice and John Wallace Women's Golf Classic, where she placed eighth. So far, she has two rounds in the 60s, including a season-best 68 at the Alice and John Wallace Women's Golf Classic.
Shoemaker has been a staple in the Trojan lineup throughout her collegiate career. She led USC by placing sixth at the NCAA East Lansing Regional with a career-best 9-under 207 to help the Trojans qualify for the NCAA Championships. She has 15 career top-25 finishes and six top-10 finishes.
FAB FRESHMEN
USC welcomes two freshmen to the squad this year: Sarah Hammett and Chloe Kim. The only international player on USC's roster, Hammett hails from Gold Coast, Australia and has competed in five tournaments so far. Her best finish so far was tying for third at the curtailed East Lake Cup, while she's coming off firing her best collegiate round of 69 during the Alice and John Wallace Women's Golf Classic.
Kim made her debut in the spring at the Therese Hession Regional Challenge and has competed as an individual in both of USC's tournaments this spring. She is coming off a collegiate-best 32nd-place showing at the Alice and John Wallace Women's Golf Classic.
