May 20, 2026 | Men's Basketball
The All-OVC guard averaged 15.3 points and 8.5 rebounds at Lindenwood
LOS ANGELES – The USC men's basketball team signed transfer guard Jadis Jones (New Madrid, Mo./New Madrid County Central HS) for the upcoming 2026-27 season, head coach Eric Musselman announced on Monday, May 20.
"We are excited to welcome Jadis to the Trojan Family," Musselman said. "Jadis brings a relentless and hard-nosed mentality to our program and competes at a high level when he steps on the floor. He plays with tremendous energy and toughness, making a major impact as a rebounder and doing all the little things that help teams win. Defensively, Jadis fits with our aggressive style of play because of his ability to guard multiple positions, play with physicality, and disrupt opponents with his effort and intensity. His competitiveness and team-first approach will make him a tremendous addition to our program."
Jones comes to USC from Lindenwood where he played two seasons for the Lions. The 6-5 guard earned All-Ohio Valley Conference first team honors after averaging 15.3 points, 8.5 rebounds, and 2.6 assists per game. He finished in double figures in 22 games and scored a career-high 30 points against Charleston Southern. The New Madrid, Missouri, native had 10 double-doubles to set the Lindenwood DI era record for double-doubles in a season.
As a freshman, Jones was named the OVC Freshman of the Year and garnered All-OVC second team honors. He earned OVC Freshman of the Week laurels 12 times and broke the conference's all-time record set in 2002. He averaged 12.5 points, 5.8 rebounds, 1.1 assists, and 1.5 steals per game in his first season.
Before Lindenwood, Jones was chosen as the Missouri Gatorade Player of the Year. In high school, he guided his team to two state championships and earned all-state honors three times. He was the back-to-back Missouri Class 3 Player of the Year and recorded over 2,000 points and 1,000 rebounds in his career.
Jones is the seventh transfer added to the Trojans' 2026-27 roster and joins Isaac Bruns, Eric Reibe, Joshua Hughes, Jalen Cox, KJ Lewis, and Aaron Hunkin-Claytor. The transfer group joins returners Rodney Rice, Jacob Cofie, and Alijah Arenas, and incoming freshmen Adonis Ratliff, Darius Ratliff, and Christian Collins.
