PALO ALTO, Calif. — The USC women's soccer team went toe-to-toe with No. 1 Stanford and earned a 2-2 draw on the road on Thursday night, getting first career goals from Jaiden Rodriguez and Peyton Nakagawara in the effort.

It was USC's first result at Cagan Stadium since 2021 and the Trojans' two goals were the first Stanford had conceded all year. Stanford drops its first points of the season and has an overall record of 5-0-1. Meanwhile, the Trojans, who are 1-3-2, bounced back with a much-needed result on the road.

Stanford did not equalize until the 87th minute when Brooke Holden got on the end of a cross from Milly Bray before redirecting the first-time effort into the side net.

USC goalkeeper Josie Biehl limited one of the nation's most potent attacks with a career-high seven saves. Biehl has a total of 20 saves on the season.

Stanford opened the scoring just after 30 minutes when Charlotte Kohler took advantage of the deflected clearance and broke the deadlock, scoring in the 36th minute. Peyton Marinos recorded an assist on Kohler's scoring effort.

Rodriguez equalized right before halftime in the 43rd minute with a shot from just outside of the penalty area that found the side netting inside the left post.

Nakagawara's first collegiate goal in the 54th minute gave the Trojans the lead before the Cardinals scored their late equalizer. Charlotte Ward recorded an assist on the Trojan's second-half goal as she sent a cross in from the left that Nakagawara punched home.
