THIS SEASON: Mericle enters his first season of competition at USC.
2014: Mericle redshirted his first season at USC.
HIGH SCHOOL: Mericle was named league MVP as a senior out of Tesoro High in Las Flores, Calif.... Also named to All-CIF Division III first team as a senior... As a junior, was an all-league first-team pick and named to the All-CIF second team... Won two league championships... Played club for SET Water Polo... An honor student.
PERSONAL: Mericle has not decided on a major but hopes to pursue a career in sports broadcasting... Parents are Keith and Christine... Has three sisters, Emma, Elisabeth and Allison... His father Keith and cousin Brian are both USC grads... Brian also played water polo at USC... Enjoys playing roller hockey and watching the LA Kings in his free time... Also enjoys trout fishing... Lists Vin Scully as his biggest sports hero... Has always wanted to play ice hockey... Hopes to travel to Italy and to Whistler, Canada... Born April 17, 1996.
