Bio
THIS YEAR: Sophomore T.J. Brock is in his second season as a sprinter on the USC track and field team.
2017: Brock set a wind-legal 100m PR of 10.30 (+1.7) in the prelims at the Texas Relays on March 31. The next day he placed fourth with a time of 10.21 (+2.1w). He placed fourth in the 100m with a time of 10.37 (+2.2w) at the Pac-12 Championships on May 14. He had a wind-aided PR of 10.16 (+4.2w) in the NCAA West Regional prelims....would finish 16th overal at the regional with a time of 10.26 (+3.1w). Ran anchor as USC placed 10th in the 4x100m relay at the NCAA Championships on June 7 with the 10th-fastest time in school history of 39.05. He took second place with a time of 10.33 (-1.1) in the 100m at the USA Junior Championships on June 23. Brock went on to win the 100m title with a time of 10.45 (-0.4) at the Pan Am Games in Trujillo, Peru on July 21. He had a time of 21.37 (+0.0) in his only 200m race of the season at the Battle on the Bayou on April 8.
HIGH SCHOOL: Brock graduated in 2016 from Chaminade College Prep where he was a two-time state champion in the 100m dash. He won the 100m dash at the 2016 CIF State Championships with a time of 10.43 and in 2015 with a wind-legal best time of 10.34. Ran a wind-aided 10.20 at the 2015 Mt. SAC Relays, second-fastest 100m time by a California high schooler to Quincy Watts' 10.17. Chaminade won the state title his junior season. Won every 100m race he competed in since 2014. Also played defensive back in football for Chaminade.
PERSONAL: T.J. was born on February 3, 1998. His parents are Tarrik and Kanika Brock and he has one brother, Christopher...His mother was his track coach in high school and competed in track herself at USC...His father was a major league baseball player and current outfield/baserunning coordinator for the L.A. Dodgers...Says his father is his sports hero as he overcame adversity and still managed to achieve his goals...T.J. is a Communications major at USC...His hobbies include flying planes and traveling...His favorite movie is Gladiator and favorite superhero is Deadpool...His favorite meal is chicken pad thai....Some day would like to travel to Germany...After USC would like to run professionally and become a pilot.
