Bio
THIS YEAR: Senior Jadon (juh-DON) Joyner has competed in the sprints and jumps for the USC track and field team. He transferred to USC from Ohio Wesleyan before the 2016 season.
2017: Competed mostly in the jumps his second season at USC. He had PRs of 23-6.75/7.18m (-1.8) in the long jump and 45-8.00/13.92m (-1.9) in the triple jump at the USC-UCLA Dual Meet on April 30...he finished fourth and fifth respectively in those events. He took 10th in the triple jump with a leap of 44-2.50/13.47m (+3.4w) at the Pac-12 Championships on May 14. The previous day at Pac-12s, he placed 14th in the long jump with a mark of 21-10.25/6.56m (+2.5w). He had a season-best of 10.86 (-0.3) in the 100m at the Trojan Invitational on March 18.
2016: Set a 200m PR of 21.63 (+1.7) to place third at the USC-UCLA Dual Meet...also ran 10.85 in the 100m dash to place sixth. Had a season-best 100m time of 10.81 (+1.1) to finish fourth at the Cardinal & Gold Challenge. Finished 19th in the 100m (11.01) and 14th in the 200m (21.95) at the Pac-12 Championships.
BEFORE USC: Joyner competed in the sprints for Ohio Wesleyan in 2015. He ran the 100m and 200m. His time of 22.25 in the 200m at the Adams Memorial Invitational set the meet record. He was named the North Coast Athletic Conference Player of the Week on March 23. He was a Dean’s List student at Ohio Wesleyan.
HIGH SCHOOL: Joyner graduated from Hotchkiss School in Connecticut in 2014. He competed on the track team and ran the 200m and did the long and triple jumps. He ran 11.11 in the 100m and had a long jump of 21-5.75. He also played on the basketball team and was named the most improved player for the 2012-13 season.
PERSONAL: Jadon was born on March 19, 1996 in Brooklyn, N.Y.
