Bio
THIS YEAR: Junior Christian Sourapas had a strong first season as a sprinter for the USC track and field team. He transfered to USC following one season at Oregon.
2017: Set PRs in both the 100m and 200m at the USC-UCLA Dual Meet on April 30...he placed third in the 100m with a time of 10.37 (+0.9) and won the 200m with a time of 20.63 (+0.9). He finished seventh in the 100m with a time of 10.48 (+2.2w) in the final of the Pac-12 Championships on May 14...had run 10.39 (+1.4) in the prelims. Also finished third in the 200m with a wind-aided PR of 20.52 (+2.8w) at the Pac-12 Championships. He had a wind-aided 100m-PR of 10.36 (+3.0w) to finish 32nd at the NCAA West Prelims on May 25...also finished 13th in the 200m with a time of 20.56 (+2.9w) at the West Prelims on May 27, one spot out of advancing to the NCAA Championships. Was also featured on USC's 4x100m relay which took second at Pac-12s with a time of 39.42. and 10th at the NCAA Prelims with a time of 39.34.
BEFORE USC: Sourapas was a member of the University of Oregon track and field team in 2016 before transferring to USC. He competed with the Ducks in the outdoor events, but he redshirted for the indoor events. He had a 100m wind-legal best of 10.69 run in placing 13th at the Pac-12 Championships. He had bests of 10.52w in the 100m and 21.49 in the 200m. He was a member of the Oregon 4x100m Relay team that ran the second fastest time in school history and finished 10th at the NCAA Championships.
HIGH SCHOOL: Sourapas graduated from Francis W. Parker in 2015. He has bests of 10.82 in the 100m and 21.49 in the 200m. He was 1st Team All-CIF San Diego Section and 2015 CIF San Diego 200m champion. He holds the school record for the 100m, 200m and 4x100m.
PERSONAL: Christian was born on July 17, 1996...Parents are Steven and Connie Sourapas and he has two siblings, Stevie and Brett...Sports hero is Jimmie Johnson...Lists favorite foods as steak, California burritos, pizza, and tacos...One day would like to travel to Ireland…Grandfather Sotiris Steve Sourapas ran on the USC track and field team and father Steven played USC football...Enjoys off-road racing and go-karting...Is a Communications major at USC.
