Bio
Leah Gallegos enters her first season at USC as the Director of Operations for women[apos]s soccer. A 2007 graduate of USC with a bachelor[apos]s degree in ethnic studies with a focus on Chicana studies, she studied curanderisma (traditional folk healing) in Mexico after graduation. She has since worked for non-profits and in education for the past three years. She also currently plays in the WPSL for Ajax America.
Gallegos transferred to USC as a senior, coming to Troy after three seasons at Florida State. After recovering from a torn ACL while at FSU, she played in 16 games as a Trojan and started four during the 2005 season, scoring three goals and adding three assists for USC. She had the game-winning goal in USC[apos]s NCAA First Round win over Gonzaga. In her three previous seasons at FSU, Gallegos set the program record with 11 career game-winning goals. An NSCAA Third Team All-American, she now ranks second in that category at FSU, and still holds the all-time season record with seven game-winners scored in her sophomore season, when she also tallied 18 goals to rank No. 2 all-time in single-season scoring at FSU. After scoring 28 goals as a Seminole and standing out as a SoccerBuzz First Team All-American, she missed part of her junior season after suffering a torn ACL.
A native of Los Angeles, Gallegos played high school soccer at Franklin and South Pasadena high schools.
