A 2020 Olympian with Australia, Lachlan Edwards is bound for his second Olympic Games as a member of the Aussie Sharks team competing in the Paris 2024 Games.
2017: Lachlan Edwards ranks No. 18 all-time in scoring at USC with 144 career goals... Was fifth on the team with 33 goals as a senior in 2017... Named a First Team All-American and selected to All-MPSF First Team... Named to MPSF All-Tournament Team after helping USC to the conference championship... Scored in 20 games with 10 multiple-goal outings... Set new career high with five goals vs. MIT on Sept. 16.
2016: Edwards was USC’s third leading scorer as a junior with 37 goals... Scored his 100th career goal during USC’s MPSF win over Cal... Named to All-America Third Team and All-MPSF Second Team... Also selected to NCAA All-Tournament First Team... Scored in 18 games with 11 multiple-goal outings... Matched career high with two four-goal outings... Twice named MPSF Player of the Week (Sept. 12 and Oct. 3).
2015: Edwards was USC’s third leading scorer as a sophomore with 40 goals... Earned All-American Second Team honors... Also picked to the NCAA All-Tournament Second Team after scoring four goals in the play-in, once in the semis and two goals in the final... Named to All-MPSF Second Team... Scored in 21 games with 11 multiple-goal outings... Set a new career high with four goals scored at Cal on Oct. 31.
2014: Edwards scored 31 goals as a true freshman at USC... Scored in 17 games with eight multiple-goal outings... Posted four games with a career-high hat trick, including back-to-back three-goal games against Pacific and LMU... A member of the 2014 NCAA Tournament roster.
NATIONAL TEAMS: Edwards is a member of the Australian National Team... Recently named to Australia's 2024 Olympic Team for Paris, he also was a 2020 Olympian with Australia… Won bronze at 2019 FINA World League Super Final and silver at 2018 FINA World Cup... A 2018 BENU Cup silver medalist... Also competed at the 2017 FINA World Championships and at the 2015 World University Games... Competed at the 2013 FINA World Cup in Kazakhstan... Was a member of Australia’s Junior and Youth national teams.
HIGH SCHOOL: Edwards swam and played water polo at Melbourne High School in South Yarra, Victoria, Australia... Earned the school’s Water Polo Award in 2012 and 2013 and the Swimming Award in 2013... Played club for Melbourne Collegians Water Polo Club and also for Victorian Tigers and Victorian Seals... Won gold in the 2013 Australian National League with Victorian Tigers and silver in 2014 with Victorian Seals... Won Australian Water Polo National Club Championships at the under-18 level in 2012 and 2013... Won bronze medals at the under-16 level in 2011 and 2012.
