THIS SEASON: Matteo Morelli enters his final season at USC carrying 110 career goals scored as a Trojan, ranking No. 28 all-time in scoring at USC.
2016: Morelli was USC’s second leading scorer with 37 goals scored as a junior... Earned All-America Second Team honors and named to the All-MPSF First Team... Scored his 100th career goal during USC’s MPSF win over Cal... Scored in 16 games with 12 multiple-goal outings... Selected MPSF Player of the Week on Oct. 31 after a four-goal game in a win over Cal... An MPSF Scholar-Athlete, also earned ACWPC All-Academic honors.
2015: Morelli was the team’s fourth leading scorer with 33 goals as a sophomore...Earned All-American Honorable Mention... Scored in 18 games with seven multiple-goal outings, including two goals scored in the NCAA semifinal win over Cal... Matched career high with five goals scored in a win over Chapman on Sept. 12... Earned ACWPC All-Academic honors and was an MPSF Scholar-Athlete.
2014: Morelli was the team’s third leading scorer with 40 goals scored as a true freshman... Scored in 19 games with 12 multiple-goal outings... Set career high with a five-goal outing vs. Chapman on Sept. 13... A member of the 2014 NCAA Tournament roster.
NATIONAL TEAMS: Morelli was a member of Italy’s Youth National Team... Competed at tournament around Europe, including Coppa Comen, Torneo Acireale, Syros and Darko Cukic Memorial.
HIGH SCHOOL: Morelli won Under-15 and Under-20 Italian Championships with Circolo Canottieri Napoli... Also competed in the A1 Italian Championship and played in the playoffs with Canottieri Napoli.
