The match remained competitive, but UCSB came out on top as Palina Dubavets/Natalie Da Silveira defeated No. 46 Angela Kulikov/Rianna Valdes 6-4 to claim the doubles point. The Gauchos entered singles leading the Trojans 1-0.
The Gauchos rolled their momentum from doubles over to singles as UCSB's Elizaveta Volodko put another point on the board for her team by beating USC's junior Rianna Valdes 6-3, 6-3 on court four.
