Senior Santo Condorelli finished second in the 50y free with a PR 19.05 while fellow senior Dylan Carter was seventh, also in a season best, to lead USC on the second night of the 2018 Pac-12 Men's Swimming and Diving Championships on Thursday (March 1) in Federal Way, Wash.

USC is third after two nights with 254 points. California leads with 379 followed by Stanford (361), USC, ASU (185), Utah (139) and Arizona (127).

Condorelli, in his third career final in the Pac-12 50y free, matched his best finish with a second place, just 0.05 back of Cal's Justin Lynch. The time solidified his place in third on USC's all-time chart, 0.01 back of Carter's best.

Carter was seventh in the race tonight in a season-best 19.40. It was his fourth A final in the 50 and it was the eighth conference A final for both swimmers.

Junior Kyle Grissom posted two PRs today in the 50y free, the second a 19.65 to finish fourth in the 50y free B final, tying him eighth on USC's all-time list. He went 19.68 in prelims. Senior Ralf Tribuntsov was eighth in the B final in 19.80. Freshman Robert Glinta went a season-best 19.91 in the C final, fifth in his heat.

Condorelli, Carter, Tribuntsov and Grissom closed the night by combining to finish third in the 200y free relay in a season-best 1:16.55.

Freshman Jake Sannem led USC in the 500y free, finishing fifth in the B final in a season-best 4:20.80. Freshman Max Statham was third in the C final in 4:26.09 while senior Jason O'Brien was fourth in the C heat (4:29.64).

Junior Walker Bell became the ninth fastest Trojan ever in the 200y IM with his 1:45.36 that was good enough for fifth in the B final, the second time today he lowered his PR (1:46.02 in prelims). Freshman Nikita Tretyakov took was fourth in the C final of the 200y IM (1:46.80) while sophomore Mark Jurek was sixth in the heat (1:47.29).

The meet continues Friday and Saturday with prelims at 11 a.m. and finals at 6 p.m. each day.
