Women of Troy Return Home To Challenge California and Stanford

THIS WEEK
The No. 16 ranked USC women's tennis team returns home to Marks Stadium after a month on the road to challenge No. 15 California on Friday (March 29) at 1:30 p.m. PT and No. 7 Stanford on Saturday (March 30) at 12 p.m. PT.Â
ORACLE/ITA RANKINGS UPDATES
In the most recent ITA team rankings (March 26), the Women of Troy fell three spots to the No. 16 ranked team.Â
The ITA also released new singles and doubles rankings on March 19.
Freshman Salma Ewing fell to No. 49 after previously holding the No. 45 spot. Junior Angela Kulikov improved to No. 75T, which is her best career singles ranking. Freshman Danielle Willson now holds the No. 124 position.
In doubles, Angela Kulikov/Rianna Valdes are now ranked the No. 20 pair in the nation.
GOING STREAKING
Freshman Danielle Willson continues to ride a strong winning streak as she holds a record of 12 straight victories. She also remains undefeated in dual matches (11-0). Willson is one of five players in the Top 50 teams to remain undefeated in dual matches with 10 wins or more. Junior Angela Kulikov is currently riding a five-match winning streak.Â
SCOUTING CALIFORNIA
The No. 15 ranked California Golden Bears hold a 9-3 record and are 3-0 in Pac-12 Conference play. They are currently riding a five-match winning streak that the Trojans hope to snap in Los Angeles. They have three nationally ranked singles players: No. 21 Olivia Hauger, No. 30 Julia Rosenqvist and No. 74 Anna Bright. They also have three doubles pairs nationally ranked: No. 13 Mraz/Rosenqvist, No. 23 Bright/Dunk and No. 60 Mraz/Stloukalolva. Earlier this season, USC took on Cal in a non-conference match where the Trojans lost 5-2. Since that match, USC has not lost a match and are currently riding an eight-match winning streak.Â
SCOUTING STANFORD
No. 7 ranked Stanford has a stacked roster with eight nationally ranked singles players: No. 17 Emily Arbuthnott, No. 28 Michaela Gordon, No. 47 Melisa Lord, No. 57 Janice Shin, No. 58 Caroline Lampl, No. 81 Emma Higuchi, No. 83 Sara Choy and No. 123 Niluka Madurawe. Lampl joins USC's Danielle Willson as one of the five players in the Top 50 ranked teams to remain undefeated in dual matches with 10 wins or more. In the doubles game, the Cardinal boasts four ranked pairs: No. 12 Yee/Lampl, No. 18 Arbuthnott/Gordon, No. 30 Yee/Madurawe and No. 41 Lord/Madurawe. The Cardinal are 12-1 on the season and 3-0 in Pac-12 conference play. They are currently riding a seven-match wining streak.
