USC Women’s Tennis Victorious Over Colorado

The No. 11 ranked USC women's tennis team defeated the Colorado Buffaloes on a Pac-12 Network televised match on Friday, April 5. With this victory, USC is now 15-3 on the season and 5-1 in Pac-12 Conference play.
The afternoon began with doubles and Colorado took a quick lead as Ecton/Farrow defeated USC's Branstine/Ewing 6-0 on court three. The Trojans continued to battle on the remaining two courts, and the No. 14 ranked duo of Kulikov/Valdes took down No. 35 ranked Adrinopoulos/Malinen 6-3 on court one. Shortly thereafter, USC's duo of Weissmann/Willson completed their match winning 6-3 over the Buff pair of Forster/Nayar on court two to give the Trojans the doubles point.
In the singles portion of the competition, Trojan Constance Branstine notched another point on the board for the Women of Troy with her 6-1, 6-2 victory over Colorado's Ky Ecton on court six.
As the other Trojans continued to battle it out, three courts arrived at match point all at the same time. USC's No. 43 ranked Salma Ewing defeated Buffalo Sara Nayer 6-2, 6-2 on court one to push the Trojans ahead 3-0 overall.
Trojans No. 122 ranked Danielle Willson and No. 123 ranked Ana Neffa both held match point on their courts. Willson would be the first to finish as she beat Colorado's Tallulah Farrow 6-3, 6-1 on court five to clinch the match for the Women of Troy.
After the clinch by Willson, the remaining courts were suspended.
The Trojans return to Marks Stadium tomorrow to face off against No. 39 ranked Utah. Tomorrow's match is also Senior Day where we will be honoring senior Rianna Valdes as well as team manager Jae-Jae Segal.
