March 06, 2025 | Women's Tennis
Trojans welcome Bruins to Marks Stadium on Friday at 2 p.m.
LOS ANGELES – Rivalry week has arrived for No. 30 USC women's tennis as the Women of Troy prepare to host crosstown rival No. 28 UCLA at David X. Marks Stadium on Friday, March 7.Â
Â
At 5-2 this season, the Women of Troy have just one last match before they hit the road to start Big Ten Conference play. Both teams enter the match coming off a loss, with USC losing to No. 28 Pepperdine and the Bruins falling to unranked San Diego State last weekend.Â
Â
The first battle for Los Angeles of the season promises to be competitive, with both teams fielding four ranked singles players. For the Women of Troy, No. 47 senior Grace Piper leads the way, followed by No. 56 junior Emma Charney, No. 73 sophomore Immi Haddad and No. 118 freshman Jana Hossam. For the Bruins, it is No. 16 Anne-Christine Lutkemeyer, with No. 52 Kate Fakih, No. 67 Elise Wagle and No. 100 Kimmi Hance also appearing in the rankings. Both teams also cracked the doubles rankings: for USC it is No. 8 Piper and Lily Fairclough and No. 44 Sloane Morra and Jana Hossam, while UCLA's three ranked teams are led by No. 3 Olivia Center and Fakih.
Â
With UCLA having taken both contests last season, the Women of Troy are out for revenge as they get ready for the second half of the season. They two teams will meet once more in the regular season for a conference contest.
Â
First serve will take place at 2 p.m. on Friday, March 7 at David X. Marks Tennis stadium. To follow along, clickhere.
