No. 2 USC Women’s Golf Wins 16th Regional Title
May 13, 2026 | Women's Golf
The Trojans will make their 28th consecutive NCAA Championship appearance.
ANN ARBOR, Mich. — The No. 2 USC Women's Golf team won its NCAA record 16th regional title and earned its 28th consecutive NCAA Championship berth with a win at the Ann Arbor Regional on Wednesday, May 13.
The Trojans began the day in a tie for second but immediately vaulted to the top spot after all four players birdied the first hole of the par-71, 6,260-yard course. After trading the lead with Ohio State on the back side, USC emerged victorious to win by five strokes with an 853 (+1) total to punch its ticket to the NCAA Championship, held at the Omni La Costa Resort in Carlsbad, Calif. from May 22-27.
With the win, USC has collected eight tournament victories on the year and has won its last seven tournaments, which is not only the longest win streak in program history, but also the nation's longest win streak heading into the NCAA Championships next week. The team's eight single-season wins are the most under Head Coach Justin Silverstein and one win away from tying the program record set in the 2013-14 season.
Sophomore Elise Lee led the Trojans by finishing with a 209 (-4) total to place second — the best finish of her collegiate career. Lee fired a 69 on the final day and was in contention for the individual title until a bogey on the final hole sent her into second. She finished with four birdies and two bogeys.
Senior Catherine Park made a push to the top of the leaderboard after firing a 69 (-2) en route to finishing in fifth place with a 211 (-2) total.
Sophomore Kylie Chong remained in a tie for 11th and finished with a 215 (+2) total. Chong started strong with a birdie to begin the day, but ran into trouble with a double-bogey on the par-3 No. 5. A birdie on No. 7 helped bring her to par, but a bogey on No. 13 pushed her score to a 72 (+1) to wrap up the round.
Junior Bailey Shoemaker rounded out the Trojan scorers by tying for 21st with a 218 (+5), while Sarah Hammett finished in 41st with a 227 (+14).
Northwestern's Ashley Yun took home medalist honors with a 208 (-5). Ohio State, No. 10 Duke, Northwestern and Texas Tech all earned NCAA Championship berths, along with Minnesota's Isabella McCauley, who was the top finisher on a non-qualifying team.
