Bio
THIS YEAR: Sophomore Shante Robinson is in her second season of competing in the hurdles for the USC track and field team.
2019: Robinson did not compete in track and field during the 2019 season.
2018: Robinson made steady progress throughout the season, opening her outdoor Trojan career by placing second in the 400m hurdles (61.71) and third in the 100m hurdles (14.08) at the Beach Opener. She took second in the 400m hurdles at the USC-UCLA Dual Meet with a time of 59.31. She finished seventh in the 400m hurdles with a time of 59.36 at the Pac-12 Championships. She ran a PR of 58.02 to advance eighth out of the NCAA West Preliminary Rounds. She finished 12th in the semifinals of the 400m hurdles at the NCAA Championships with a time of 58.24. During the indoor season she had a best 60m hurdles time of 8.51 at the MLK Invitational. She ran 8.58 to finish 10th in the 60m hurdles at the MPSF Championships.
HIGH SCHOOL: Robinson is a 2017 graduate of Mira Costa High School in Manhattan Beach, Calif. She placed third in the 300m hurdles at the 2017 CIF State Championships with a PR of 40.84...she was also fifth in the 100m hurdles with a time of 13.66 (+3.7w). She was fourth in the 300m hurdles in 2016 with a time of 42.46 and fifth in 2015 at the CIF State Championships. Robinson is the holder of nine Mira Costa High School records.
PERSONAL: Shante was born on September 11, 1999 to Ralvin Robinson and Camille Hylton…She has one sibling, Semajai…She was President of the Black Student Union at Mira Costa High School…Hobbies include photography, paintballing and hikes…Her sports hero is Usain Bolt…Someday would like to travel to Africa…She is a Public Policy major at USC.
