THIS YEAR: Â Freshman Markalah Hart begins her first season as a hurdler on the USC track and field team. Â
HIGH SCHOOL: Hart is a 2020 graduate from Northwestern High in Miami, Fla. Â She won the Florida high school (FHSAA) 100m hurdles title in 2018 and 2019. Â She also won the 300m hurdles state title in 2018 and finished third in the event in 2019. Â She has personal bests of 13.50 (13.44w) in the 100m hurdles and 40.28 in the 300m hurdles. Â She was a teammate of TeeTee Terry at Miami Northwestern and ranked the No. 33 recruit in the country by MileSplit.
PERSONAL: Â Markalah was born on May 13, 2002 in Miami Florida...Parents name is Satara Nelson and she have five brothers and four sisters...Does volunteer work with the youth track and field coach at Metro Dade Track Club Meets... Her hobbies are dancing, taking pictures and has an interest is fashion designing...Lists her favorite movie as Best Man Holiday, favorite musicians are Lil Durk, Rod Wave, and Meek Mill...favorite food is soul food...Someday she would like to travel to Puerto Rico, Jamaica and Colorado...Her goal after USC is open her own business somewhere between a clothing line or shop...She is an Entrepreneurship major at USC.
