2024: Smith recorded 59 tackles, including 4 for loss of 5 yards, with 2 INTs (tied for first on the team) and 2 PBUs (tied for second on the team), in 10 appearances (all but Utah State, Rutgers and Texas A&M), starting all of them, as a senior in 2024. He earned All-Big Ten Third Team honors for his perforamnce.

As a 2018 sophomore, he had 31 tackles (with a sack), 3 interceptions, 3 deflections and 2 forced fumbles on defense, 12 receptions for 162 yards (13.5 avg) and a 9-yard rush on offense and 3 kickoff returns for 110 yards (36.7 avg) with a TD and 4 punt returns for 37 yards (9.3 avg).
