2024: Tuliaupupu, whose USC career has been slowed by foot and knee injuries, will look to compete for playing time on the defensive line as a redshirt senior in 2024.
2023: Tuliaupupu was sidelined for the 2023 season after suffering an injury during training camp.
2022: Tuliaupupu recorded 10 tackles, including 3 for loss (with 2.5 sacks) and 1 QB hurry while appearing in all 14 games as a redshirt senior in 2022.
He recorded 1 tackle (the first of his career), including 0.5 for loss of 2 yards (with 0.5 sack for minus 2 yards) against Rice. He collected 2 tackles, including 0.5 for loss of 1 yard versus Stanford. He posted 1 tackle, including 1 for loss of 2 yards (with 1 sack for minus 2 yards against Arizona State. He had 1 tackle against Utah, Arizona, Colorado and UCLA, and had 1 QB hurry versus California. He notched 2 tackles, including 1 for loss of 4 yards (with 1 sack for minus 4 yards) in the Cotton Bowl against Tulane.
2021: Tuliaupupu did not see action as a redshirt junior inside linebacker in 2021. He missed 2021 spring practice while recuperating from a 2020 knee injury.
2020: Tuliaupupu, after being sidelined his first 2 seasons at USC with a foot injury, was hoping to be able to compete for playing time at inside linebacker as a redshirt sophomore in 2020, but he suffered a knee injury during 2020 summer workouts and had surgery that sidelined him for the season.
2019: Tuliaupupu, a redshirt freshman inside linebacker, did not see action in 2019 while recovering from a 2018 foot injury that required additional surgery in 2019 fall camp. After the season, he was granted a sixth year of eligibility by the NCAA for medical reasons.
2018: Tuliaupupu redshirted as a first-year freshman inside linebacker in 2018 while sidelined following pre-season foot surgery. He was slowed in 2019 spring drills while recuperating from the foot injury.
HIGH SCHOOL: He won the 2017 High School Butkus Award and made 2017 USA Today All-USA Defensive Player of the Year, PrepStar Dream Team, Max Preps All-American first team, Tacoma News Tribune Western 100, Orange County Register Fab 15 second team, USA Today All-California Defensive Player of the Year, Cal-Hi Sports All-State first team, All-CIF Division 1 Defensive Player of the Year, Orange County Register All-Orange County first team and All-Trinity League first team as a senior inside linebacker at Mater Dei High in Santa Ana (Calif.). In 2017 despite suffering a season-ending foot injury in the playoffs, he had 63 tackles, including 12 for losses (with 4 sacks), a fumble recovery and a forced fumble. Mater Dei went 15-0 in 2017, won the California CIF Division 1 title and the California State Open Division crown and was named the prep national champions. Current Trojans Raesjon Davis, Kyron Hudson, Josiah Zamora and Corey Nerhus also prepped at Mater Dei.
He spent his first 3 years of high school at Claremont (Calif.) High. As a 2016 junior, he made Max Preps Junior All-American first team, Max Preps All-State Medium Schools second team, Cal-Hi Sports All-State Junior first team, All-CIF Division 7, Inland Valley Daily Bulletin All-Area and All-Palomares League MVP while getting 126 tackles, including 18 for losses (with 2 sacks), 2 fumble recoveries, 1 forced fumble and a blocked field goal.
As a 2015 sophomore, he made Cal-Hi Sports All-State Sophomore first team while getting 140 tackles, including 6 for losses (with 1 sack), and a deflection.
As a 2014 freshman, he had 70 tackles (1 for a loss), 3 deflections and a fumble recovery for a TD.
PERSONAL: He earned his bachelor’s degree in Business Administration in the spring of 2022. He has also earned his master’s degree in Project Management. He is now pursuing a certificate in Gerontology. In the spring of 2024, he was recognized as a David X. Marks Scholar for graduating with either a GPA of 3.0 or higher or having a GPA in the top 10% of his team and recording a cumulative 2.75 GPA or higher. He earned placement on the 2023 Pac-12 Fall Academic Honor Roll. His father, Turnbull, was an offensive lineman at Southern Utah (2000-01). He cut his long hair in 2017 for the first time since the fifth grade as a show of support of cancer victims and survivors. He spent part of his youth in Utah. His full name is Solomon Nokeakua-Stroud Tuliaupupu. His nickname is Solo.
