CAREER: He has 45 tackles, including 11.5 for losses of 39 yards (with 4.5 sacks for minus 23 yards), plus a deflection and a fumble recovery in his career. He has appeared in 28 games in his career, with 11 starts.
2022: After suffering a lagging injury that lasted throughout the 2021 season, Figueroa looks to be back as key member of the defensive line as a redshirt senior in 2022.
2021: Figueroa was a key component of USC’s defensive line as a redshirt senior in 2021, seeing action in 9 games (all but Washington State, Arizona, Arizona State) and starting 5 times (San Jose State, Stanford, UCLA, BYU, California). Overall in 2021, he had 16 tackles, including 3.5 for losses of 4 yards. He was a 2021 Campbell Trophy semifinalist, Jason Witten Collegiate Man of the Year Award semifinalist and Senior CLASS Award semifinalist and also won USC’s Trojan Howard Jones/Football Alumni Club Academic Award and Co-Lifters Award. He missed the Washington State game after injuring his shoulder versus Stanford and then a hamstring strain kept him out of the Arizona and Arizona State games. He had surgery on his shoulder after the 2020 season and missed 2021 spring practice while recuperating.
He had 1 tackle for loss against both San Jose State and Stanford, 2 tackles against Oregon State, 4 tackles against Utah, 2 tackles at Notre Dame, 3 tackles (1 for loss) versus UCLA, 2 tackls (0.5 for loss) against BYU and 1 tackle at California.
2020: Figueroa had a breakout year on the defensive line as a junior in 2020. Overall in 2020 while starting all 6 games, he had 20 tackles, including team highs of 7 for losses of 31 yards and 3.5 sacks for 23 yards. He made the 2020 All-Pac-12 honorable mention, Phil Steele All-Pac-12 third team and Pro Football Focus All-Pac-12 honorable mention.
He had 5 tackles (with 1.5 for losses) against Arizona State, 4 tackles at Arizona and 3 tackles (1 for a loss) at Utah. All 3 of his tackles against Washington State were sacks (1 shy of the USC game record). He had 2 stops (1 for a loss) at UCLA and 3 tackles against Oregon.
2019: Figueroa, who enrolled at USC in the spring of 2019 after transferring from a junior college, was a key contributor as a backup defensive lineman as a sophomore in 2019. Overall in 2019 while appearing in all 13 games, he had 9 tackles, including a sack for minus 4 yards, plus a fumble recovery and a deflection.
He had a tackle against Fresno State, Stanford, Utah and Notre Dame, a sack and deflection versus Arizona, 2 tackles against Colorado and Oregon and a fumble recovery at Arizona State.
JUNIOR COLLEGE: He made 2018 PrepStar JC All-American and All-Southern California Football Association National Southern League Defensive Player of the Year as a redshirt freshman defensive end from Riverside (Calif.) City College. He had 38 tackles, including 19.5 for losses (with 11.5 sacks), in 2018.
CAL POLY: He redshirted as a freshman defensive end at Cal Poly in 2017.
HIGH SCHOOL: As a 2016 senior defensive end and tight end at Cajon High in San Bernardino (Calif.) in his only season playing football, he made All-Citrus Belt League as he had 86 tackles, including 19 for loss (with 12 sacks), plus 3 deflections, a fumble recovery and a forced fumble.
He also played baseball at Cajon.
PERSONAL: He earned his bachelor’s degree in real estate development at USC in the spring of 2021 and now is working on a master’s in finance with a 3.76 GPA. He made the 2021 CoSIDA Academic All-American second team and CoSIDA Academic All-District team. He made the 2020 Pac-12 Academic Honor Roll.
