Laura Pomatto, a senior starboard, is in her third year on the varsity squad and continues to improve...In 2010, Pomatto rowed with the Varsity Four boat from the third seat at the Head of the American...She also rowed for the Open Division Varsity Eight from the third seat at the San Diego Crew Classic...in 2009: Pomatto opened the season in the first seat in the Varsity Eight 'A1' lineup at the Head of the American, rowed in the second seat in the Second Four boat against LMU and at the Women[apos]s Open Carley Copley Cup Grand Final, she was in the first seat in the Open Eight boat. Laura Elizabeth Pomatto was born in Long Beach, Calif...a 2007 graduate of Beckman High School in Irvine, Calif...Pomatto figure skated for 10 years, where she attained the senior medal in one of the top levels of skating and won a pre-gold in ice dancing...valedictorian of high school class...majoring in biomedical engineering and gerontology with hopes to become a doctor...Was on the Viterbi School of Engineering Dean[apos]s List and is a member of Tau Beta Pi, an engineering honor society... she is a USC Presidential Scholar.
