THIS YEAR:
Senior transfer Brithton Senior is in his first season as a hurdler on the USC track and field team, after competing previously at South Dakota and Nebraska.
BEFORE USC:
Senior is a hurdler who competed at South Dakota from 2020-22 and at Nebraska from 2023-24. He has personal bests of 7.66 in the 60m hurdles, 13.54 in the 110m hurdles and 53.16 in the 400m hurdles. He placed fourth in the 110m hurdles (13.81) at the 2024 Big Ten Championships and fourth in the 60m hurdles (7.75) at the Big Ten Indoor Championships. He earned second-team All-America honors at the 2023 NCAA Outdoor Championships with Nebraska’s 4x100m relay. He placed third in the 110m hurdles at the 2023 Big Ten Championships (13.61) and second in the 60m hurdles (7.71) at the Big Ten Indoor Championships. He took third in the 60m H (8.02) at the 2022 Summit League Indoor Championships. Senior ran his 110m H PR of 13.54 in placing second at the 2021 Texas Relays. He placed 10th in the 60m H (7.79) at the 2021 NCAA Indoor Championships and won the 2021 Summit League Indoor 60m title (7.99). He also won the 2020 Summit League 60m hurdles (7.74) title. While at Nebraska, he earned 2023 and 2024 USTFCCCA All-Academic honors, was a 2024 Big Ten Distinguished Scholar and was Big Ten All-Academic. He also made the Nebraska Scholar-Athlete honor roll three times and made the 2024 Tom Osborne Citizenship Team.
HIGH SCHOOL:
Senior is a 2019 graduate of Rusea’s High School in Hanover, Jamaica. A four-time Western Championships 110-meter hurdle champion. He also took gold in the 400m H in 2017. He took second in the 110 hurdles at the Jamaican National Championships, going on to represent the black, gold and green at the 2017 World Youth Championships in Nairobi, Kenya. He also raced for Team Jamaica at the Carifta Games in 2018. He had personal bests of 13.59 in the 110m hurdles and 53.18 in the 400m hurdles.
PERSONAL:
Brithton was born on Oct. 7, 2000 in Dias, Jamaica…His parents are Stacian Sommers and Wayne Senior and he has one sibling, Lyric…Enjoys cooking…His favorite food is curry chicken…Someday would like to travel to Brazil…He is a Gerontology major at USC.
