THIS YEAR:
Graduate transfer Roberto Ruelas is in his first season as a distance runner on the USC track and field team, after competing at LMU from 2019-24.
BEFORE USC:
Ruelas is a graduate transfer distance runner from LMU. He owns PRs of 3:54.19 in the 1500m and 14:31.48 in the 5000m. In cross country for LMU, he won the 2022 and 2023 LMU South Bay Twilight Meet (8K) title. Ruelas earned West Coast Conference Runner of the Week honors for his 2022 South Bay Twilight Meet win with a time of 24:48.7, nearly 25 seconds faster than the second-place runner.
HIGH SCHOOL:
Ruelas is a 2019 graduate of Loyola High in Los Angeles, Calif. He had high school bests of 2:00 in the 800m, 4:25 in the 1600m, 9:34 in the 3200m and 15:40 in the 5K cross country race.
PERSONAL:
Roberto was born on Sept. 22, 2000 in Los Angeles, Calif…Ruelas is working on a Master’s in Entrepreneurship and Innovation at USC.
