Bio
THIS YEAR: Freshman Makhaila Mills is in her first season as a sprinter for the USC track and field team.
HIGH SCHOOL: Mills is a 2021 graduate of Creekside High in St. John’s, Fla. Mills, from Creekside HS in St. John's, Fla. She was slowed by injury during the 2021 season, but anchored the 4x100m relay team to a time of 47.29 and a third-place finish at the FHSAA state championships. She won the 2019 FHSAA state 100m title at 11.66 and was second in the 200m with a time of 23.91. Mills has PRs of 11.56 in the 100m and 23.88 in the 200m. Her 100m time of 11.75 in 2020 ranked fifth among all high school runners. Mills also posted a time of 7.33 in the 60m which ranked third-fastest in the country in 2020. She was an All-American, All-County, a 2019 Pepsi Relays runner up in the 100m, ITG Next Athletic award winner, National Honor Society, and National English Honors Society member. She spoke before the Board of Education, a member of Bible Study and the Feeding Northeast Florida program.
PERSONAL: Makhaila was born on Nov. 23, 2002 in Cleveland, Ohio.…Her parents are Tracy and Tony Mills…she has two younger siblings, Madison and Mason…Her hobbies are watching twisted thrillers, going on adventures, eating and sleeping…Her favorite musical artist are YNW Melly, Lil Baby, DaBaby, Gunna, Pop Smoke and Juice Wrld…Lists her favorite movies as The Perfection, Marvel vs. D.C., What About Bob…Says Black Widow is her sports hero because she is strong, independent and caring…Loves spicy food…Someday would like to travel to Japan and to Greece…She is a Human Biology major at USC with a current goal of becoming a dermatologist.
