THIS YEAR: Junior Justin Braun is in his third season as a sprinter on the USC track and field team.
2024: Braun did not compete during the outdoor season due to injury. During the indoor season he set his 60m PR of 6.55 in winning at the Spokane Sports Showcase on Jan. 12 and set his 200m PR of 20.79 in placing third at the Arkansas Qualifier on Feb. 16. His 60m time moved him to tied for third on USC’s all-time list. In his only 400m race indoors, he ran 46.43 to place third at the Ted Nelson Invitational on Jan. 20. He ran the leadoff leg and earned indoor All-America honors with the 4x400m relay which placed seventh at the NCAA Indoor Championships with a time of 3:04.67, which ranks fourth on USC’s all-time indoor relay list. He also ran on the 4x400m relay which ranks as the second-fastest quartet all-time by the Trojans of 3:03.14 which won at the Eagle Elite Invitational on Feb. 10.
PERSONAL: Justin was born February 13, 2004 in Columbus, Ohio… His mother is Kristin Braun… Enjoys playing spikeball in his free time… Lists his coach Tremayne Peppers as his biggest sports hero, for teaching him everything he knows…Currently is undecided on his major.

2023: An injury caused his season to come to an end after the outdoor season opener, the Aztec Invitational on March 25. At the Aztec Invitational he placed third in the 200m with a PR of 20.82 (+0.0). He competed in four indoor meets, posting an indoor 400m PR of 45.99 at the Tiger Paw Invite on Feb. 10.
HIGH SCHOOL: Braun, from Columbus, Ohio, is a 2022 graduate of Westerville Central where he had a PR of 45.65 in the 400m dash, which was best among all high school runners last season and the second-fastest ever by an Ohio high schooler. He also has PRs of 10.43 in the 100m and 20.87 in the 200m dashes. He was a scratch due to a leg issue at the 2022 Ohio state meet, but at the regional ran 45.65 in the 400m and 20.94 in the 200m, which were both meet records. In 2021 he was named the Ohio Gatorade Boy’s Track Athlete of the Year.
