Bio
THIS YEAR: Graduate student Marne Sullivan is in her first season as a distance runner on the USC track and field and cross country teams. She graduated from Boston College in 2023 with a degree in Communications and a minor in Marketing.
BEFORE USC: Sullivan competed in track and trained with the cross country team for Boston College from 2019-23. She set her 800m PR of 2:06.15 to place 10th at the ACC Outdoor Championships on May 12, 2023. Her personal best in the 1500m is 4:42.16 set at the Black & Gold Invitational on April 1, 2022…she also ran with the winning 4x400m relay at the meet. Was a 3-time All-ACC Academic selection and was named to the 2021 USTFCCCA Women’s All-Academic Team. Is a member of the National Inspirer Coachlear Foundation & Malala Fund. Earned the 2023 Golden Eagles Inspiration Award. Earned the BC Interruption Award for the female athlete who best embodies the characteristics of being a BC Eagle.
HIGH SCHOOL: Sullivan is a 2019 graduate of New Trier High in Winnetka, Ill. She was a four-time All-State track runner and earned seven career medals at the Illinois High School State Meet. She received the Most Valuable Middle Distance Runner for New Trier three times. She anchored Trier’s state champion 4x800m relay team in 2019. She holds New Trier High school records in the indoor 300m and 400m races and as part of indoor and outdoor 4x400m relay teams. She qualified for the New Balance Nationals Indoor and Outdoor Qualifier in the 800m in 2018 and 2019. She also played for the New Trier High field hockey team.
PERSONAL: Sullivan was born on June 12, 2000 in Chicago, Ill…Her parents are John and Molly Sullivan and she has two siblings, Jack and Lauren…Her father competed in track and cross country for Georgetown…In her spare time she likes to try new coffee shops, going to the beach with friends, creating videos on deaf awareness and traveling with her father who is an airline pilot…Involved in Heartworks and Boston College Council for Students with Disabilities…Her favorite musical artists are Post Malone, Taylor Swift and Drake…Lists her favorite television show as New Girl…Says her sports heroes are Emma Coburn and Sydney McLaughlin because of their passion, grit, determination and perseverance…Her favorite food is pasta…Lists her three favorite places in the world so far as London, Florence and Nantucket…Her goals after USC include writing a book, doing a TED Talk and hosting her own 5K in Chicago/Boston to raise money as well as awareness for children who cannot afford hearing health care….Is working on a Master’s in Communication Management at USC.
