Bio
THIS YEAR: Graduate transfer Alexandra Chan is in her first season as a hurdler and sprinter on the USC track and field team, after graduating in 2023 from UCLA.
BEFORE USC: Chan competed four seasons for UCLA where she posted a 100m hurdles best of 14.51 and a 60m hurdles best of 8.83. 2023: Appeared in six events for the Bruins during the indoor season… Ran a season-best 7.95 in the 60m event at the Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Invitational, placing seventh in the meet… Her 8.83 in the 60m hurdles earned 13th place at the Ken Shannon Last Chance meet, her season-best mark in the event…Ran five races for the Bruins in the outdoor season… Placed sixth at the annual USC Dual Meet, running a personal-best 14.51 in the event. 2022: Ran 13 races for UCLA during the indoor season... Competed in the 60m, 200m, 60m hurdles and one 4x400m relay during her junior indoor campaign. She ran a season-best time of 8.95 in the 60m hurdles at the UNM Team Open on January 29. Appeared in six outdoor meets, claiming fourth in the 100m H with a time of 14.63 at the Rafer Johnson-Jackie Joyner-Kersee Invitational on March 26. Posted a season-best time of 14.60 in the 100m H at the Mt. SAC Relays. 2021: Competed in seven outdoor meet. She ran a lifetime-best time of 14.53 in the 100H in the Bruins’ dual meet against USC, finishing fourth overall in the competition. Equaled her personal best at the Pac-12 Championships, clocking a 100H time of 14.53 to place 15th. 2020: She competed in a pair of indoor meets as a true freshman.
HIGH SCHOOL: Chan is a 2020 graduate of Menlo School in Menlo Park, Calif. She has a high school best of 14.55 in the 100m hurdles at the 2019 USATF Junior Olympics. She had a 300m H best of 46.78 at the BWAL Championships. She competed in the 100m H at the 2019 New Balance Nationals. She was a two-time USAFT Junior Olympic Nationals qualifier in the multi-events (Pentathlon in 2015 and Heptathlon in 2016). Chan took third in the 100m hurdles at the CIF-CCS Finals and finished 13th at the CIF State Meet. She set the Menlo School 100m hurdles record with a time of 14.60.
PERSONAL: Chan was born in Meno Park, Calf…Her parents are Tyrone and Debra Lee-Chan and she has four younger siblings,
Sebastian, Elizabeth, Alastair and Victoria…Enjoys traveling, spending time with family and friends, shopping and photography.
