THIS YEAR: Sophomore Maci Simmons is in her second season as a hurdler on the USC track and field team.
SCHOOL: Simmons had a strong freshman campaign. She won the 400m hurdles at the Texas Relays with a time of 60.23 on March 24. She ran a PR of 59.67 to finish 16th at the Mt. SAC Relays on April 16. She placed third in both the 400m hurdles and 100m hurdles at the USC-UCLA Dual Meet on May 1...she set her 100m hurdles PR of 14.50 (+0.0). She placed sixth with a time of 60.14 in the 400m hurdles at the Pac-12 Championships on May 15. She competed in the 400m hurdles at the NCAA West Prelims. During the summer Simmons took seventh in the 400m hurdles with a time of 61.43 at the USATF U20 Championships.
HIGH SCHOOL: Simmons graduated in 2021 from Vandegrift High in Austin, Texas. She placed sixth in the 300m hurdles with a time of 44.24 at the UIL 6A state championships…. also took eighth in the 100m hurdles with a wind-aided PR of 14.62w. She placed second in the finals of the 300m hurdles with a PR of 43.60 at the Region 4-6A Meet. She won the 6A District 25 300m hurdles title with a time of 45.22. She won the 400m hurdles with a PR of 60.57 at the AAU Junior Olympic Games in Humble, Texas in the summer.
PERSONAL: Maci was born on June 16, 2003…Her parents are Nanette and Jason Simmons.
